Position Responsibilities:
The Medical-Surgical RN will provide direct and indirect nursing care within acute care and telemetry inpatient units. Responsibilities may include:
- Patient assessments and symptom management.
- Medication administration.
- IV therapy and fluid replacement.
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm observation.
- Admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- EMR documentation.
- Central line care.
- Heparin drip management.
- Chest tube and drainage tube management.
- Foley catheter and ostomy care.
- Wound care and wound vac therapy.
- Pain management.
- Pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
- Blood product administration.
- Monitoring for sepsis, respiratory complications, cardiac conditions, and other acute care needs.
- Collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have:
- Graduation from a professional nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
- Current Ohio RN license or current multi-state compact RN license.
- Current American Heart Association CPR certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of two years of direct patient care experience within the last three years.
- Acute care Medical-Surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoring.
- Strong electronic health record documentation skiname, title, organization, email address, and phone number.
Important Education Requirement:
Candidates must have graduated from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program. Nursing school accreditation will be verified before submission.
