Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced ER Holding / MS-Tele Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment with Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Contract Length: 13 weeks.
Schedule: Nights, 3x12s.
Shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM.
Hours: 36 hours/week.
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,146/week.
Employment Type: Travel Contract.
Self-scheduling.
Every-other-weekend coverage.
Floating required to similar units as needed.
First-time travelers accepted.
Local candidates accepted at an adjusted local rate.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
MS/Tele experience or ED Holding experience required — HARD STOP
BLS required.
MOAB required; facility may provide.
NIHSS required.
ACLS preferred.
Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience.
IV start and peripheral-line management experience.
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams.
Must pass EKG testing prior to start.
NC or Compact RN license; pending license may be accepted for submission.
Epic experience preferred.

Unit Overview:

This is an Emergency Department Holding / Clinical Decision Unit designed to support patients awaiting observation, admission, diagnostic testing, procedures, or disposition from the Emergency Department.

The RN will care for medical, telemetry, and general surgical patients while helping support patient throughput and decompress the Emergency Department.

Clinical responsibilities may include:

Cardiac and medical telemetry monitoring.
IV therapy and phlebotomy.
Peripheral and central-line care.
Port access and management.
Non-invasive airway management.
Chest tube management.
Cardiac drips without titration.
Isolation precautions and PPE.
Rapid-response and emergency care.
Coordination of diagnostic testing and procedures.

Unit Details:

Overflow / ED Holding / Observation setting.
Approximate target ratio: 1:6–7.
Average census: approximately 18.
Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
Floating may include similar units and EOU/observation.
Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR.
Navy blue scrubs.
24 hours of orientation.

Scheduling & RTO:

Every other weekend required.
Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved, excluding holidays.
No RTO during the first week.
Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
Additional RTO after booking is not permitted.
Block scheduling is not available.
