Travel Labor & Delivery RN – Winston-Salem, NC | Up to $3,488/Week | Nights.
Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses for a 13-week travel assignment at a reputable healthcare facility in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Position Overview:
The Labor and Delivery RN provides specialized nursing care to expectant mothers throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery. This position requires strong clinical skills in managing both routine and high-risk obstetric cases, including labor inductions, preterm labor, multiple gestations, preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and emergency C-sections.
The ideal candidate has experience in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit with at least 400 births per month, is comfortable circulating during cesarean deliveries, and can independently recover patients following C-sections.
Nurses will collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, patient-centered maternal care.
Assignment Details:
Location: Winston-Salem, NC.
Weekly Pay: Up to $3,488.
Start Date: November 16, 2026.
Duration: 13 weeks.
Schedule: Night shifts, 3×12 hours (6:45 PM–7:15 AM).
Hours: 36 hours per week.
Positions Available: 2.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
On-Call: Two on-call shifts every six weeks, including at least one weekend day.
Floating: Within Women's Services as needed.
Setting: Hospital Labor & Delivery Unit.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience
- Active North Carolina RN license or eligible compact RN license
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certification required
- Previous Epic charting experience
- Experience in a high-volume L&D setting with at least 400 births per month
- Proficiency in labor inductions, high-risk obstetric care, and postpartum hemorrhage management
- Experience administering and managing Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and insulin drips
- Ability to circulate in the operating room and recover C-section patients
- Experience with epidurals, IV therapy, obstetric triage, and multiple gestations
- First-time travel nurses may be considered if they meet the clinical requirements.
Unit Highlights:
- 21-bed Labor & Delivery unit.
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
- Three operating/recovery rooms.
- Labor and delivery care provided in the same suite.
- Adolescent and adult patient population.
- Self-scheduling based on unit needs; block scheduling is not guaranteed.
- Scrubs provided.
