Earn up to approximately $3,000 per week in total compensation.
Taxable hourly pay up to $57/hour, plus applicable housing and meal stipends for eligible travelers.
Nexus MedPro is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiac Stepdown Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for nurses with strong cardiac telemetry experience who thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Assignment Details:
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry
- Location: Salisbury, NC
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Nights | 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: August 3, 2026
- Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5–6
- Floating Required: Yes
- Self-scheduling with leadership oversight (no block scheduling)
- Orientation: 36 hours
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a high-acuity Cardiac Stepdown/Telemetry unit.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, recognizing and responding to dysrhythmias and clinical changes.
- Care for pre- and post-procedure cardiac patients, including those recovering from cardiac catheterization, pacemaker/ICD implantation, PCI, and peripheral vascular interventions.
- Administer and titrate cardiac medications and vasoactive drips according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies while maintaining patient safety.
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Cardiac Telemetry experience.
- First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of Cardiac Telemetry experience.
- Experience with:
- Cardiac Telemetry
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- Cardiac drips (including titration)
- Heparin protocols
- Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization
- Post-MI patients
- Pacemaker care
- IV starts and peripheral IV management
- Central line management
- Comfortable managing up to 6 patients in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- PCU/Stepdown experience.
- Arterial line management.
- Wound VAC and advanced wound care.
- Experience with vasoactive drips.
- IV insulin protocols.
- Epic electronic medical record experience.
- Previous travel nursing experience.

Care for adult patients with conditions including:
- Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Cardiac Dysrhythmias
- Stroke (CVA/TIA)
- Stable High-Flow Oxygen patients
- Pre/Post Pacemaker & ICD Implantation
- Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization
- Peripheral Vascular Interventions
